I love my nest thermostat! I had zero clue what I was doing but it was actually ridiculously easy to install myself. Only took a bit to figure out which wires were which since this is an old house & nothing was labeled (which thanks for the lil stickers bc now they are lol). The step by step on the app is also great to make sure I was connected up properly as well.
Mine isn’t connected to an actual power source due to this house being older but I installed it early November of 2021 & I’ve replaced the batteries twice & it gives you ample warning so no big deal there & unlike other reviews I’ve never gotten an error message or run into issues due to it just running on battery power.
I appreciate the look of it too it blends into the wall so well & love that it only turns on when you’re walking past it. The scroll/tap side is user friendly enough I think although I’ll admit I rarely ever actually touch it because I simply don’t need to. Alexa can adjust the temp for me & from my bed or if I’m out of the house I use the app. I also have it set on schedules so most of the time I really don’t need to do anything.
Overall I love it & I’ll never go back to a normal thermostat ever again 🙂

The Nest thermostat only lasted one winter season. The HVAC repair guys confirmed the issue was the thermostat. After an hour on the phone with Google support, they also confirmed the Nest thermostat was defective. The warranty is only a year and unfortunately for me it was expired by 2 weeks. No refund, no replacement. There’s nothing Google can do for me. Strongly recommend buying another brand.

Has a battery so no need of C wire but it keeps popping a warning message that c wire not setup!!
Also Integrates with Alexa only when on. If off Alexa is unable to start the unit.
