The Aqara Smart Lock U400 is a rekeyable smart deadbolt built around Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, letting iPhone or Apple Watch users unlock the door simply by approaching without tapping or entering a code. It also supports Apple Wallet and Samsung Wallet digital home keys, a built-in fingerprint reader (up to 50 fingerprints, ~0.3s recognition, 98.6% accuracy), passcodes, an NFC card, two mechanical keys, and app/voice control. The lock is Matter-certified over Thread, so it works natively with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant without requiring a dedicated Aqara hub. It runs on a rechargeable Li-ion battery lasting up to 6 months per charge, charged via USB-C, and includes a built-in gyro sensor that automatically locks the door once it senses the door has closed.
